
Men's Basketball Loses to Maryland, 73-57

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Junior Corey Raji scored 14 points and sophomore Reggie Jackson added 11 points to lead Boston College in a 73-57 ACC loss to Maryland before 8,606 fans in Conte Forum.
Junior Rakim Sanders totaled 10 points, while classmate Joe Trapani contributed nine points and a game-high nine rebounds.
Maryland led from start to finish. The Terrapins scored the game's first six points and extended its margin to double digits - 24-13 - midway through the first half.
The visitors took their biggest lead of the half - 18 points - on a Landon Milbourne jumper with 3:26 to play.
BC rallied late in the half, holding the Terps scoreless for the final three minutes, while running off eight straight points. Jackson began the run with two free throws and sophomore Dallas Elmore added a driving field goal. Trapani sank two free throws with 49.4 seconds left, and Raji finished the run with a dunk with 10 seconds to play. BC trailed 38-28 at the break.
Maryland dashed any BC comeback hopes with a strong start to the second half. The Terps began the session with an 8-2 run to claim a 46-30 advantage with 16:52 left. The visitors' margin reached 20 points - 56-36 - on a three-point play by Adrian Bowie with 11:40 to play.
Game Notes: Jackson recorded a team-high five assists ... Elmore finished with six points, two assists, one rebound and one blocked shot in 19 minutes ... BC gained a 40-28 rebounding advantage ...
