CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Junior swingman Kenny Walls scored 21 points and sophomore guard Ryan Sidney added 12 points to lead Boston College to an 81-75 exhibition victory over the HP-Minnesota Panthers before a crowd of 2,369 fans in Conte Forum.
Trailing 35-34 at halftime, Boston College allowed the visitors to extend their lead to as many as five points -- 46-41 -- early in the second half, before taking control. The Eagles used a 14-4 run over the next four minutes to gain a 55-50 advantage with 10:42 to play.
The Panthers battled back and twice evened the score in the game's final four minutes. HP-Minnesota tied the game at 66-66 with 3:30 remaining, before Boston College ran off seven consecutive points to secure the victory.
Game Notes: Three Boston College players -- Uka Agbai, Ludmil Hadjisotirov and Jermaine Watson -- each finished with nine points ... Sidney added six rebounds and six assists to his point total. He committed just one turnover in 27 minutes of action ... Agbai recorded four blocked shots ... Senior Brian Ross tied for team-high rebounding honors with six. He also contributed six points and three assists ... The HP-Minnesota Panthers were led by former Augsburg College star Tom Chatman. Chatman finished with a game-high 23 points ... The Panthers featured former college players who hail from the Minneapolis area and formerly played in the Howard Pulley AAU program. BC's Troy Bell, who did not play in the game, is a product of the Howard Pulley program.
