SONNY NICTAKIS
Peter "Sonny" Nictakis was a former player with outstanding character. Sonny was the Boston College Baseball captain for two consecutive years in '98 and '99 and was deeply respected by his fellow teammates. He lost his battle to Hodgkin's disease in the summer of 2000, soon after graduating from BC. Sonny wore the number 8 on his back throughout his time as an Eagle, and now the number is awarded to a player that exemplifies his character each year.
