Pete Frates
Pete Frates was a former Eagle, captain of the Boston College Baseball team of 2007. He was diagnosed with ALS in 2012 at the age of 27 and fought a strong battle until 2019. After being diagnosed with ALS in March 2012, he was named the Director of Baseball Operations for BC Baseball. Pete was a strong fighter and the epitome of what it means to be an Eagle. ALS ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE
Pete Frates spearheaded the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in 2014 along with Pat Quinn and Anthony Senerchia. The Challenge raise over $115 million for the ALS Association and above $200 million for ALS research. This worldwide Challenge led to the involvement of over 17 million people, joining together to spread awareness and fight ALS.

BOSTON COLLEGE ALS AWARENESS
Boston College Baseball has held an annual ALS Awareness game since 2011, shortly after the diagnosis of Pete Frates. These awareness games are at the crux of the program and ignite us to live the mission to Strike Out ALS.
