Prospective Student-Athletes
Register with the NCAA Eligibility Center
The NCAA Initial Eligibility Center officially certifies student-athletes as academically eligible to compete based on requirements that include: coursework, GPA, and test scores. The Eligibility Center also officially certifies a student-athlete's initial amateurism status based on the answers provided by a student to the amateurism questions.
In order to be eligible for practice and competition, every prospective student-athlete needs to meet NCAA Eligibility Center certification standards. The following step-by-step list shows how easy it is to go through the process:
- Register with the Eligibility Center here. (Save your Eligibility Center code and password.)
- Request the SAT/ACT testing agency send your scores to the Eligibility Center. (Note: scores will only be accepted from the testing agency, not your high school! The SAT source code for the Eligibility Center is "9999").
- As a senior:
- Ask your high school to forward your final transcript with proof of graduation to the Eligibility Center as soon as it becomes available.
- Check your Eligibility Center status periodically and complete ANY open tasks.
- Log into your Eligibility Center and submit your request for final amateurism.
*If you have a need for a fee waiver, ask your high school guidance counselor to submit the request on your behalf directly to the Eligibility Center. The must write a letter on school letterhead and it must be signed by a school official (i.e. guidance counselor or a principal). This letter
