The team's first varsity season was 1994-95, and the team played in the ECAC through the 2000-01 season. The Eagles were members of the ECAC East for one year in 2001-02 before Hockey East founded its women's league in 2002-03. BC was a founding member of WHEA and has played in the conference since.
