May 28, 2025 | Boston College Athletics, Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball
The Men's and Women's Programs from both schools will meet on Oct. 13 at Mohegan Sun Arena
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- Boston College and Connecticut will face off in an exhibition doubleheader on Monday, Oct. 13 at Mohegan Sun Arena. Â The NCAA waiver-approved event will feature matchups between BC and UConn's men's and women's basketball teams.
"This exhibition game against UConn will be a great opportunity for our team with live-game action during the preseason," said head coach Earl Grant. Â "It will be good preparation for the upcoming season with a match up against a long-time rival and one of the top programs in the country at Mohegan Sun Arena."
On the men's side, the two programs have faced each other on 90 occasions during the regular season, beginning with the 1918-19 season. Â The Eagles and Huskies were charter members of the BIG EAST Conference in 1979 and last faced each other on Nov. 21, 2013 at Madison Square Garden in the 2K Sports Classic. Â
"Playing UConn in an exhibition at Mohegan Sun is a great experience for our team. The opportunity to compete against the 2025 National Champions in such a beautiful arena - the home of the WNBA's Connecticut Sun - is an incredible opportunity to grow and improve," said head coach Joanna Bernabei-McNamee.
The Boston College and UConn women's programs last met in the regular season on Nov. 17, 2005. Â One of the most notable matchups between the two teams came in the semifinals of the 2004 BIG EAST Tournament, when the Eagles downed the Huskies, 73-70, in the semifinals en route to winning the conference championship.Â
Tickets for the 2025 Basketball Hall of Fame Exhibition Game will go on sale on Friday, August 1, via Ticketmaster and at the Mohegan Sun Arena Box Office starting Saturday, August 2. Â A limited number of tickets will be available through the Boston College box office at a later date.
