Zhang Earns NCAA Regional Qualifier

The junior standout will compete May 5-7 at the Norman Regional
INDIANAPOLIS -- Cynthia Zhang was selected to compete in the 2025 NCAA Women's Golf Championship, it was announced this afternoon. Â Zhang will compete as an individual at the Norman Regional Site. Â She is seeded third among the six individuals who will play at Jimmie Austin Golf Club, on the campus of Oklahoma University.Â
The junior had an outstanding season for Boston College, ranking 192nd in the country according to Scoreboard - the official NCAA golf rankings. Â She won the Red Bandanna Invitational during the fall and posted two runner-up finishes at the Quinnipiac Classic and Diamante Intercollegiate in October. Â
Zhang opened the spring season with a fourth place finish at the Puerto Rico Shootout.  In total, she posted seven top 15 finishes in her nine starts with a 72.4 adjusted scoring average.
Regional play will take place May 5-7 at six regional sites, with 396 participants - each site will feature 12 teams and six individuals. The top five teams (30 teams total) and the low individual not on an advancing team (six individuals total) from each regional site will advance to compete in the national championship to be played May 16-21 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California. Â Â
