Eagles Drop Senior Day Match to Notre Dame

Boston College falls to Notre Dame 6-1 on Senior Day on Sunday morning
WEYMOUTH, Mass. – The Eagles (7-13, 2-11 ACC) dropped the final match of the weekend to No. 33 Notre Dame (15-7, 6-5 ACC), falling 6-1 on Sunday. Boston College honored its two seniors, Sophia Edwards and Marice Aguiar, for their tenure on the heights.
Notre Dame took the first two doubles matches 6-1 and 6-3 to earn the doubles point. Natalie Eordekian and Tola Glowacka were tied 5-5 in the third doubles match, but the match went unfinished with Notre Dame already clinching the point.
Marice Aguiar won set two against Julia Andreach of Notre Dame to force a tiebreaker set. Aguiar ultimately fell to Andreach 7-6, 4-6, 1-0. Natalie Eordekian defeated Page Freeman in straight sets 6-4 6-1 to earn a point for the Eagles.
Notre Dame would proceed to win the next two singles matches in straight sets. Tola Glowacka would take Yashna Yellayi into three sets, ultimately falling 4-6 6-2 6-3. The Fighting Irish would close out the match with a straight set win to earn the 6-1 victory over the Eagles.
