CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- The doubles team of Juan Jose Bianchi and Jake Vassel cracked the Top-15 in the first ITA National Doubles Rankings of the spring season, announced today by the association. This is the highest ranking in program history and currently the fourth-best ranking in the ACC.
The Eagles duo started the spring season on fire, earning a flawless 4-0 against Merrimack, Brown, DePaul, and Furman. Carrying over from the fall campaign, Vassel and Bianchi hold an 11-2 record in official matches.
During fall action, the doubles team claimed victories against top-tier opponents Alabama, Oklahoma State, and Princeton. The duo advanced to the Final Four of the ITA Super Regionals doubles draw and the quarterfinals of the ITA Fall National Doubles Championship to start their 2023-24 campaign.
Bianchi and Vassel will have their first ranked matchup on Feb. 14 when the Eagles host Florida State University in Weymouth, Mass. The Seminoles currently hold No. 39 and No. 43 in the ITA National Doubles Rankings.Â
