Yack arrives at Boston College after serving in senior development roles at Texas Tech University for nearly 11 years
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — Alex Yack has been named the new Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development at Boston College. Yack replaces Alyssa Francona, who took a similar role at Penn State this past October.
Yack arrives at Boston College after serving in senior development roles at Texas Tech University for nearly 11 years. He spent over eight years working within the Texas Tech athletics department, leading fundraising teams as the Assistant Athletics Director for both Annual Giving and Major Gifts.
"We are excited to welcome Alex and his family - Jennifer, Maisie, Maren, and Court – to Boston College," said William V. Campbell Director of Athletics Blake James. "His wide-ranging philanthropic experience will be an asset to our development and engagement efforts as we embark on our Soaring Higher campaign."
While serving the Red Raiders, his primary responsibility was soliciting philanthropic support for the Campaign for Fearless Champions, a $200M comprehensive campaign for Texas Tech Athletics, which impacted over 400 student-athletes across 17 programs.
For the past two years, Yack served as TTU's Chief Development Officer in the Gordon W. Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources and was responsible for securing the single largest gift of $44M in Texas Tech history, from Dr. Gordon & Joyce Davis to name College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources.
Throughout his tenure at Texas Tech, Yack brings a distinct skill set that will help advance BC Athletics' ambitious goal of $400M in Soaring Higher: The Campaign for Boston College having served in development leadership positions for both athletic and academic fundraising units.
Prior to his time at Texas Tech, Yack spent three years working in Athletics Development at the United States Air Force Academy. He began his career in Athletics stewardship at his alma mater Ole Miss.
Originally from Jacksonville, Fla., Yack received his degree in business administration from the University of Mississippi in 2010 and later earned a master's degree in sports administration at Northern Colorado in 2012. Alex will be joined on the Heights with his wife, Jennifer, and their three children - Maisie, Maren, and Court.
