
Hockey East Tabs Levy, Mullowney For Weekly Awards

Abigail Levy was named the Hockey East Stop It Goaltender of the Week while Deirdre Mullowney earned Hockey East Army ROTC Defender of the Week
AMESBURY, Mass. – Boston College defender Deirdre Mullowney has been named the Hockey East Army ROTC Defender of the Week while Abigail Levy has been named the Stop It Goaltending Goaltender of the Week, as announced on Monday by the league.

Mullowney had a two-goal performance at Holy Cross on Saturday night, including the game-winning goal just 28 seconds into in the 3-0 shutout victory. The Newton, Mass. native also had a game-high six blocked shots in BC's 1-0 overtime loss at #7 Northeastern on Friday night. Mullowney, a senior, recorded three shots on goal and a plus-3 rating on the weekend while helping BC's penalty kill unit go 6-for-6.

Levy stopped 63 of 64 shots that she faced over the weekend for a .984 save percentage and 0.49 goals against average across BC's two games. The Congers, N.Y. native made 42 saves in the 1-0 overtime loss to the Huskies and stopped 21 shots for her third shutout of the season the following night against the Crusaders. Levy now ranks second in the nation with a .949 save percentage – a number that is first for goaltenders making at least 20 saves per game.

This marks the first career weekly honor for Mullowney while this is the first weekly honor of the season for Levy and fourth of her BC career.
