Laura Lopez and Marice Aguiar take down the No. 11 doubles team in the nation 6-2
WEYMOUTH, Mass. -- Taking on the second-ranked N.C. State Wolfpack on Friday night, the Eagles battled but ultimately fell 5-2. Laura Lopez and Marice Aguiar gave the Eagles a huge boost in the doubles matches, taking down the No. 11 doubles pair in the nation 6-2. Hailey Wilcox and Sophia Edwards took their match to the final game to decide the doubles point, but the Wolfpack took the match, and the point.Â
Stephanie Sanchez continues to improve in conference play, winning her singles match 6-4, 0-6, 7-6, making that consecutive weekends with singles wins over opponents from the No. 1 and No. 2 ranked teams. Natasha Irani gave BC some momentum to end the match, battling back to take her singles point 6-2, 3-6, 7-5.Â
The Eagles will look to build on this momentum this Sunday against No. 23 Wake Forest.Â
