
Huskies, Eagles Set to Meet for Two-Game Series

Seventh-ranked Boston College and UConn will meet for a home-and-home series.
BC and UConn are scheduled for a 3:00 p.m. puck drop on Saturday, Jan. 30 at Kelley Rink, with the contest set to air live on NESN. The Eagles will then make the trip to Storrs for a 3:00 p.m. start on Sunday, Jan. 30 at Freitas Ice Forum. This follows the earlier postponement of the series between Boston College and Boston University that was originally scheduled for Jan. 29-30, as also announced on Wednesday.
All games this season will be made available across the U.S. and internationally on SportsLive, while all games televised on NESN and NESN+ and other select matchups will also be made available on CBSSports.com and the CBS Sports app outside of New England.

• UConn enters the weekend at 5-7-1 overall after dropping a 2-0 game at No. 4 Northeastern on Tuesday night ... Samantha Carpentier-Yelle made 29 saves in the loss while the Huskies blocked 27 shots as a team.
• Savannah Bouzide leads UConn in scoring with 10 points on a team-high six goals and four assists ... Viki Harkness has recorded nine points on three goals and six assists while Jada Habisch (3-4-7) and Natalie Snodgrass (3-4-7) have seven points each.
• Tia Chan and Carpentier-Yelle have split time between the pipes for the Huskies ... Chan is 3-3-1 with a .953 save percentage, 1.41 goals against average and one shutout ... Carpentier-Yelle is 2-4-0 with a .907 save percentage, 2.48 goals against average and two shutouts.

FEY THE FORWARD
• After playing her first two seasons primarily on the blue line for BC, Jillian Fey now finds herself as a center.

• Last season, Fey put up seven points on two goals and five helpers ... as a freshman, she had three points on one goal and two assists.
A BALANCED BC ATTACK
• The Eagles have had 13 different goal scorers so far this season while 16 different players have recorded at least one point and nine players have at least seven points each.
• Ten players have recorded multi-point games for BC while four players have had multi-goal games.
• The Eagles have three players with multiple game-winning goals in Gaby Roy, Jillian Fey and Savannah Norcross ... six players total have tallied game-winners for BC, tied for the national lead.
• Through the first six games of the year, 10 different players scored a goal ... it marked the first time since the 2016-17 season that BC had 10 different goal scorers through the first six games.
CAPTAIN KELLY
• Through the first 13 games of the season, Kelly Browne has racked up a Hockey East-leading 15 points on five goals and 10 assists ... her 15 points are tied for third overall in the nation.
• Browne also ranks second overall in the country with 161 face-off wins and a .634 winning percentage.
• She also is tied for first in the country with five multi-point games ... those multi-point games include the third multi-goal game of her career with two scores at UConn on Dec. 4 -- a performance that included a short-handed goal and a game-winning goal.
• She opened up the season with a career-long six-game point streak and has points in nine out of 13 contests.
• Browne was named the Hockey East Player of the Week on Dec. 7 for her three goal, one assist weekend against UConn.
• Browne currently hast 973 face-off wins, needing 27 to reach 1,000 for her career ... her single-game career high for wins is 21, coming in a 3-3 tie with Maine on Oct. 26, 2019.
• Through her first 150 face offs this season, she had a 62% win rate, marking the highest winning percentage for a BC player through the first 150 faceoffs of a season since Alex Carpenter won 69% during the 2015-16 season.
• The junior recorded 36 points on 13 goals and 23 assists a season ago while earning Hockey East Third Team All-Star honors.
MEET THE CAPTAINS
• Cayla Barnes, Maegan Beres and Kelly Browne will serve as tri-captains of the 2020-21 Eagles.
• All three Eagles are first-time captains for BC ... Browne and Barnes become the ninth and 10th junior captains in program history.
• Beres enters her senior season having suited up for all 113 games that BC has played over the last three years ... last season, she finished second on the team with 47 blocked shots - a number that also ranked first in Hockey East and ninth in the nation among forwards ... she also set career-highs in goals (4) and shots on goal (50) in 2019-20.
• Barnes, a redshirt junior, is coming off a year in which she was named a Hockey East Second Team All-Star and was one of three finalists for Hockey East Player of the Year ... she recorded a career-high six goals and 17 assists for 23 points and finished third in the nation with a Hockey East-leading 103 blocked shots.
• Barnes is a two-time captain of the U.S. Under-22 Team and also captained the U.S. Under-18 squad that won gold at the 2017 IIHF Under-18 Women's World Championships.
• Browne set career-highs in points (36), goals (13) and assists (23) during the 2019-20 season ... the Hockey East Third Team All-Star finished fourth in the country and first in the conference with 451 face-off wins, becoming the first Eagle to record more than 450 wins at the dot since the 2015-16 season.
