Long, White Named Eagles of the Week

Football tight end Hunter Long scored the game-tying TD vs. Texas State and cross-country's White placed second at the Battle in Beantown.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- Boston College football tight end Hunter Long and women's cross-country runner Lauren White have been named the Eagles of the Week for the week ending Sept. 27, presented by Musco Lighting.
Long caught a career-high nine passes, including a game-tying touchdown pass late in the fourth quarter, in the Eagles' 24-21 come-from-behind with over Texas State. He totaled 81 yards on the day. His five-yard touchdown reception tied the game at 21-21 with 1:11 remaining, giving the defense enough time to get the ball back and setup the Eagles' game-winning field goal in the final seconds. Through two games, Long has a team-leading nine receptions and two touchdowns, which matches his total from the 2018 and 2019 seasons. BC remains at home this weekend against North Carolina for a 3:30 p.m. kick on ABC.

She clocked 17:27, just four seconds behind the individual winner - averaging 5:37 per mile for the five-kilometer course in Attleboro, Mass. White was one of three BC runners to finish in the top 10 of the race. The Eagles placed third as a team in a field featuring the top teams in the Northeast. Syracuse won the meet, followed by Army West Point. BC heads to the Florida State Invitational on Oct. 2 in Tallahassee.
