
Jarmond Announces Athletics Staff Reorganization

Two senior staff promotions announced
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – William V. Campbell Director of Athletics Martin Jarmond announced the first athletics staff reorganization of his tenure on Tuesday.

Jarmond announced that Jason Baum has been promoted to Senior Associate Athletic Director for Communications while Dave Ayer was promoted to Associate Athletic Director for Business Operations.

"We are excited to announce the new roles for Jason and Dave," said Jarmond. "I evaluated where we need to go with the organization to be more operationally efficient and better aligned with our mission to provide our student-athletes with an exceptional experience. We felt these moves were key in our first athletics reorganization."

Baum begins his fourth season at the Heights and will continue to oversee the communications office. In addition, he will also oversee the departments of Interactive Media, ACC Network, and Information Technology.

A native of York, Pa., Baum enters his 20th year in the athletic communications field with previous stops at Maryland, UCF, Rutgers and the New York Red Bulls in Major League Soccer. A graduate of West Virginia University, Baum and his wife Andrea reside in Brookline.

Ayer was promoted to lead the business operations for Boston College Athletics. He will have oversight of the business office and the equipment room. Ayer enters his 17th year within the BC Athletics Department. Ayer is a graduate of Endicott College, where he was a four-year varsity basketball student-athlete. He and his wife Jen reside in Harwich with their two children, Tyler and Emma.

Among the other moves announced in the senior athletics staff responsibilities include new roles for Senior Associate Athletic Directors JM Caparro, Jocelyn Gates and Vaughn Williams.

Caparro will now oversee facilities and event management. He will continue to have oversight of sponsorships, ticket operations, and ticket sales.

Gates will now have oversight of human resources. She will continue to oversee the departments of compliance, student-athlete development, sports medicine, and strength & conditioning in addition to serving as the department's Senior Woman Administrator.

Williams will now have oversight of marketing and fan engagement. Additionally, he will oversee campus recreation, sport administration and capital projects.
