Ian Ritchie places third in the 1,500m; Marcus Manson seventh in the 400m hurdles
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Ian Ritchie posted another personal best, running 3:44.34 to finish third in the finals of the 1,500m during Saturday's final day of competition at the 2019 ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, held at Lannigan Field on the campus of the University of Virginia.
Ritchie closed the final 400m in 56 seconds to earn a spot on the podium.
In the 400m hurdles, Marcus Manson registered another PR in the finals, as he finished seventh in a time of 54.26. Avery McKenzie placed 10th in the triple jump, with a personal best leap of 14.81m (48'7.25").
The 4x400m relay team placed eighth in a season-best time of 3:17.55 to close out competition. The Eagles placed 14th overall as a team, with 16 points.
On Friday night, Ben Osipow ran a PR of 9:04.29 in the 3,000m steeplechase, scoring valuable points by finishing eighth overall in the event.
In the 400m, both Stephen Windisch (49.50) and Khalfani Green (50.03) clocked personal bests during Friday's preliminary rounds.
Russell Wells posted a PR in the 800m, with a time of 1:54.22. Matt Morano crossed the line in a time of 1:53.66 in his heat of the 800.
On Thursday, Sean Burke placed third in the 10,000m run, while Marcus Manson and Ian Ritchie advanced to Saturday's finals in the 400m hurdles and 1,500m, respectively. Burke ran 29:26.40 to earn a spot on the podium. The senior from Pleasanton, Calif. race in today's 5,000m final.
