Lopez Named ACC Women’s Tennis Co-Freshman of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Boston College rookie Laura Lopez and North Carolina's Cameron Morra have been selected as ACC Co-Freshmen of the Week in women's tennis. The league made the announcement on Tuesday afternoon.
Lopez had the clinching singles victory on Sunday against No. 10 Syracuse in the Eagles' first-ever upset of a top-10 program. The Barcelona native defeated Dina Hegab 7-6, 6-3 in straight sets to clinch the historic victory for BC 4-3 in a match which lasted roughly five hours.
The win over Syracuse pushed Boston College's record to a perfect 7-0 in the spring. This weekend, BC hosts Boston University and Rhode Island in a doubleheader on Saturday (Feb. 9) at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on the Heights.
