Long Becomes Second Eagle to Qualify for ITA All-American Championships

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College junior Yufei Long will become only the second Eagle in program history to qualify for the main draw of the ITA Women's All-American Championships, joining Lexi Borr in 2015.
The 32-player main draw begins on Wednesday (Oct. 9) in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the Case Tennis Center at Lafortune Park. Long will find out her first opponent following two rounds of qualifying, which concludes on Tuesday.Â
She is ranked 45th in the nation in the ITA preseason rankings released last month. Last season, her first at Boston College after a year at Iowa, Long finished the year ranked No. 2 in the Northeast Region and was named to the All-ACC Third Team.
Long started her second season at BC on a strong note two weekends ago, going 2-1 in singles with wins over Harvard and Brown at the Harvard Fall Classic.
