Richard Webber and Sean Burke Will Be The Only Eagles to Compete at the New England Indoor Championships this Weekend
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College men's track and field team will not be in competition this coming weekend, taking the time to train between their previous meet (Terrier Classic), and the upcoming David Hemery Valentine Invitational at Boston University on Feb. 8.
Â
However, two Eagles will be competing as individuals this weekend at the NEICAAA Championships on Friday (Feb. 1) and Saturday (Feb. 2) at the Reggie Lewis Center in Roxbury, Mass.
Â
Richard Webber will be competing in the 60M and the 200M this weekend. Webber qualified for the 60M with a PR time of 7.01 at the BU Multi Team Meet on Jan. 19. In the 200M, Webber qualified with a PR time of 22.31, which he ran in the team's last meet on Jan. 26 (Terrier Classic). The prelims for each event take place Friday afternoon, with the finals taking place on Saturday.
Â
Sean Burke will be competing in the mile run on Saturday. Burke qualified with a PR time of 4:14.57 at the Beantown Challenge on Jan. 12.
Â
"(Burke and Webber) are using the New England's as a stepping stone, after sitting out earlier competition," said head coach Matt Kerr.
Â
A tentative schedule of events and list of entries are available online now, with live scoring provided by NEICAA.
