
Alastair Ingram Named Associate Director of Communications

Ingram comes to BC after nine years at the University of Vermont
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College Athletic Communications Office has hired Alastair Ingram as associate director of communications. He is set to join the Boston College Athletics Communications staff on Monday, Sept. 10. In his new role, Ingram will be the primary contact for the Eagles' men's hockey team, men's and women's tennis and skiing, along with serving as the office's contact with the Golden Eagles.

Ingram comes to The Heights after nine years at the University of Vermont, the last three as the Director of Media Relations and Sports Information. He managed all media logistics and strategy for the Catamounts and was the primary point of contact for the athletic department. In addition to overseeing the sports information and media relations staff, Ingram served as the primary media contact for the men's hockey, women's swimming and diving, and skiing teams.Â

Ingram also had significant broadcasting duties with the Catamounts. Since 2010, he had served as the radio play-by-play voice of UVM men's hockey as well as the primary play-by-play broadcaster for men's and women's basketball games that aired on ESPN3 and soccer and lacrosse games on CatamountTV. He was originally hired at UVM as the radio play-by-play broadcaster for the women's basketball team in 2009.Â

He began his career in sports as a talk show host and update anchor at ESPN Radio in Boston and broadcasted play-by-play for the men's basketball and men's hockey teams at Babson College.

A native of Bedford, Mass., Ingram earned his bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism from Syracuse University in 2008.Â
