Tyler Kertson Named Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar

The graduate student ranked second on the Eagles in stroke average during 2017-18
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Tyler Kertson has been named a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars, announced Wednesday by the Golf Coaches Association of America. Kertson is one of 20 ACC student-athletes recognized among the 265 Division I golfers to earn the distinction.
To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.20. Individuals must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
Kertson ranked second on the Eagles this past year in stroke average, averaging 73.10 strokes per round. A graduate transfer from Santa Clara, Kertson appeared in nine tournaments during the 2017-18 campaign. His best finish came at the Seahawk Intercollegiate, where he tied for fourth place overall. He tied for the low round of the season for BC, firing an 8-under 64 during the opening round of the Hartford Hawks Invitational.
The Paradise Valley, Ariz. native recently completed his graduate program in applied economics in the Carroll School of Management.
