Boston College sophomore Christian Cavaliere won the 99th Westchester Amateur Championship at Brooklawn Country Club in Fairfield, Connecticut yesterday.

Cavaliere, who earned PING All-Northeast Region and All-New England honors this past season, defeated Gary Barnes out of the Centennial Golf Club, 2 & 1, in the championship on Thursday afternoon.

The Eagles sophomore advanced to the final with a 5 & 4 win over Craig Leonard from Wykagyl Country Club. Cavaliere, who plays out of the Mahopac Golf and Beach Club, defeated Jon Renza, Garrison Golf Club, 5 & 4, in the quarterfinal round.

Cavaliere, of Mahopac Golf and Beach Club, defeated Eric Terminello, Knollwood Country Club, 3 & 2, in the Round of 16.

In June of 2017, Cavaliere won the WGA Amateur Championship at Whippoorwill Club. This past season at BC, he placed 29th at the ACC Championship and was the individual medalist, firing a 6-under total of 210 at the Clemson Invitational.
