Winning was contagious across The Heights last weekend.
The lacrosse team picked up two more big wins over ranked opponents, taking down No. 17 Dartmouth, 13-10 and No. 13 Virginia Tech, 9-7, both at home.
Â
The win over the Hokies pushed them to 6-0 in the ACC, clinching the program's first ACC regular-season championship and the No. 1 seed in the ACC Championships next week - also a first for the program.Â
Â
With a 16-0 record, the best of any school in the country, the Eagles sit atop the NCAA Women's Lacrosse RPI rankings, having evenly won eight games apiece on the road and at home. If the NCAA Tournament started today, there would be a strong chance that BC would earn the No. 1 overall seed in the tournament. But there is still a lot of work to do before the 26-team bracket is unveiled on Sunday, May 6.
Â
The Eagles conclude their regular season by hosting No. 16 Syracuse on Thursday night, a team that they have only beaten once at home in seven tries - but against whom they've won three of their last six meetings, including a 21-10 win on the road in Syracuse in the 2017 NCAA Second Round.
Â
"We have to try to be better and different against Syracuse than we were against Virginia Tech," said head coach Acacia Walker-Weinstein, whose team ranks fifth in the country scoring at 16.19 goals per game. "We have to be more dominant on the draws, we have to shoot way better. The offense is due for a better game because the defense has been stepping up a lot lately."

Â
The softball team extended their program-best winning streak to 13 games with wins over UConn and No. 10 Florida State last week, before the Seminoles capture the second and third games of their weekend series.
Â
The 4-3 and 5-0 defeats to Florida State were the first two that the team dropped on the newly christened Harrington Athletics Village, where they are 6-2 since opening their new home turf.
Â
The Eagles (22-17, 9-5 ACC) have 14 games remaining on their regular-season schedule, with nine of those slated to be played at home, including three versus ACC foe Notre Dame this weekend.
Â
"As the season ticks on, every weekend seems to be magnified a bit," said head coach Ashley Obrest "I think Notre Dame's one of those rivalry series. We know they have good pitching, good hitting. We're excited that they're coming to town."

Â
After a couple of mid-week wins over UMass and Quinnipiac, the baseball team found themselves cuffed by four straight close losses.
Â
Over the weekend the offense was stymied by Wake Forest as they scored just once in the series sweep by the Demon Deacons. On Tuesday, Rhode Island rallied late to take a 3-1 win after the Eagles carried a 1-0 lead into the seventh inning.Â
Â
"The first thing we have to do is get these bats going," said head coach Mike Gambino. "Those boys from Wake threw the ball great …This is an offense that can get going and score some runs. It's a pitching staff that can keep anybody at bay. The problem is we're tending to not do those two things together a lot of weekends. Put that on me to figure out what we're going to do to get the boys back going again."

After a mid-week loss to Florida State, 6-1, the men's tennis team (7-12, 1-9 ACC) picked up their first ACC win of the season, and it was big one, as they edged 42nd-ranked Miami, 4-3, at home.
Â
The Eagles found themselves down a point early after the Hurricanes grabbed two of the three doubles wins, but the hosts stormed back to win four of the six singles matches, highlighted by Derek Austin's 6-2, 6-4 victory in the No. 1 slot.
Â
The women (12-10, 4-9 ACC) also split a pair of matches, but snagged a 4-3 win over Notre Dame - their first ever against the Irish - last Friday before succumbing to Georgia Tech, 6-1, on Sunday. They will close out their regular season schedule at home versus Wake Forest on Friday before heading to Cary, N.C., for the ACC Championships.
Â
"Another very strong ACC opponent," explained head coach Nigel Bentley. "It has a lot of significance, this match, for ACC standings and seedings for next week."
Â
The men will have three matches these week to close out their regular season, with visits to Holy Cross (Wednesday), Wake Forest (Friday) and Georgia Tech (Sunday) on the slate before they also head to Cary, N.C., for the ACC Championship.Â
