CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College men's ice hockey team clinched their 16^th Hockey East title with its 6-3 win over Maine on Friday night. The Eagles earned the regular-season title outright, finishing 3 points ahead of Northeastern. The title had not been captured outright since 2014-2015.

On Saturday night men's ice hockey's 2-1 win over Maine brought them closer to its goal of returning to the NCAA Tournament. To earn a spot they will need to win the conference tournament or finish in the top 15 of the Pairwise rankings.

In other BC sports news, spring football began for the Eagles on Feb. 27. The football team is looking to have a strong offensive line with five returning starters and seven linemen with ten or more career starts.

Football reshuffled their coaching staff after Paul Pasqualoni accepted a job with the Detroit Lions. Jim Reid took on a new role as the defensive ends coach. Both Bill Sheridan who has 13 years of experience coaching at the NFL level and Antoine Smith both joined the coaching team. Sheridan will be the linebacker coach, while Smith will coach defensive tackles.

The football team is returning play makers Lukas Denis and Will Harris who are looking to end their senior year on a high note.
