
First Meet of Indoor Season at BU Awaits the Eagles

BC will head down Comm Ave for the traditional season-opener at the Terriers.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College women's track and field team will begin its 2018-19 season this weekend when it competes in the Boston University Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener on Saturday, Dec. 1.

In last year's season-opening meet at BU, 10 Eagles hit qualifying marks for the New England Championships in their individual events.

Senior Paige Duca finished the 3000-meter run in seventh place with a time of 9:32.14 while classmate Alison Burns also crossed the line in the top 10, placing ninth in 10:08.81. Colleen Sliney finished in 10:14.23 to qualify as well. Gianna Bender was sixth in the 800 while Emily Criscuolo was seventh. In field events, junior Julia Lyons finished fourth in the long jump with a leap of 5.64 meters while Elizabeth Knoll took fifth in the high jump after clearing 1.65 meters.

The meet was traditionally named the BU Season Opener until BU announced earlier this year that it would be named in honor of BU's track and field All-American, Sharon Colyear-Danville.
