Cotton, Guy Named Eagles of the Week

Guy helps women's basketball to 2-0 start, Cotton lifts men's hockey to sweep of Vermont
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College women's basketball forward Emma Guy and men's hockey forward David Cotton have been named the Nissan Eagles of the Week following their performances this past weekend.

In two games – both wins for the Eagles under first-year head coach Joanna Bernabei-McNamee – Guy averaged 15.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. In BC's 88-64 win over Rhode Island in Thursday's season-opener, the junior had a game-high 10 rebounds and also scored nine points. In Sunday's 89-57 victory over Saint Peter's, she racked up a career-high 22 points and added eight boards.

Cotton's four-point weekend helped the Eagles to a two-game sweep of Vermont. Thursday's 4-1 win saw Cotton score one goal and assist on another in BC's second consecutive win. Friday night, Cotton opened the scoring just 16 seconds into the Hockey East tilt and then his one-timer with just 21.6 seconds left in the second period proved to be the game-winner, the second this season for the junior winger.
