The seniors tabbed after strong performances.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College football senior Zach Allen and field hockey senior Lucy Lytle have been named the Nissan Eagles of the Week following their performances this past week.
Â
Allen was all over the field in BC's 38-20 win over Louisville on Saturday, as he totaled seven tackles, three tackles-for-loss and a sack in what was the Eagles' fourth consecutive home win. BC allowed a season-low 217 yards of total offense and held the Cardinals to 47 rushing yards on 32 attempts, the fewest amount of rushing yards by an opponent in 2018. As a team, the Eagles finished with seven sacks and 12 tackles-for-loss in the win. Allen was also named the ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week for the second time in his career.
Â
The versatile Lytle scored just 25 seconds into the Eagles' 6-1 win over UMass on Sunday afternoon. In Friday night's game against North Carolina, the senior opened the scoring in the game – just the fourth time this season that a team has scored first on the Tar Heels – and then went on to record two shots on goal. Lytle's goal against the Minutewomen marked her first game-winning score of the season and fourth of her career.
