Eagles Add 15 Newcomers

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College men's track & field team will welcome 15 newcomers to the program, with 14 as part of the Class of 2021 and one as part of the Class of 2020.
The incoming class spans the event groups with athletes competing in the jumps, sprints, hurdles, mid distance and distance. The team will look to improve upon last year's successes across all the event areas and attempt to build on the record breaking performances from the class of 2017.

J'Saun Bastien
Bastien, a native of Dorchester, Mass., finished his senior year at Boston Green Academy competing for Brighton High School, as one of the most successful sprinters in school history. He was a member of the Indoor Massachusetts All-State Champion 4Ă—200 relay team, a performance which earned him Boston Globe All-Scholastic Honors. He was a multiple time all-state qualifier in the 200m, 400m and 4x200m. J'Saun also served as the Student Representative for the Board of Trustees and Student Council President at Boston Green Academy.
Benjamin Davies
Davies hails from Atlanta, Ga., and wrapped up a stellar senior year at Holy Innocents Episcopal School. He was the 2017 Georgia state 1A 800m and 1600m champion. He brings PRs of 1:54.71 in the 800m and 4:20.86 in the 1600m to The Heights. In addition to his career on the track, he was named an all-state band member.
Kyle Faddis
Another local product, Faddis is a native of Boxford, Mass. He attended Masconomet Regional High School and is a middle distance and distance runner who will compete on the cross country team in the fall. Faddis was the 2016 and 2017 Massachusetts D2 mile state champion and multiple time all-state and New Balance national qualifier. He was a three-time all-state qualifier in cross country and was invited to compete at the prestigious 2017 New Balance Indoor Grand Prix Junior Mile at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston.
Khalfani Green
One of the most versatile athletes of the Class of 2021, Green comes to BC after finishing up his senior year at the St. Paul's School in New Hampshire. He is the second incoming freshman from Atlanta, Ga., and will look to continue his success in the 400m, 400H and 800m on The Heights. He is a three-time Junior Olympic All-American in the 800m while winning the USATF Junior Olympic Championship in 2014. He was named to the All-ITSA and All-New England track teams in 2015, 2016 and 2017, while being honored as the 2017 All-New England Track MVP in 2017. He was a Boston Globe and Boston Herald All-Scholastic performer in 2016. He brings PRs of 49.06 in the 400m, 54.60 in the 400H and 1:55.03 in the 800m to BC.
Michael Hains
Hains, originally a member of the BC Class of 2020, deferred his enrollment to become a member of the Class of 2021. He hails from West Hartford, Conn., and spent his high school years at the Kingswood Oxford School. He is a middle distance specialist with a PR of 1:55.82 in the 800m. He was a four-time Junior Olympic Qualifier in the 800m, NEPSTA DIII 800m Champion, and Founder's League champion. In addition to his accomplishments on the track, Hains spent the last year as founder and CEO of a personal e-commerce business.
Max Herrerias
Herrerias comes to BC as the sole Californian in the Class of 2021. A native of Novato, he competed in the 300MH during his time at Novato High School. He looks to continue his success in the 400MH and the 400m during his time at BC. He was a two-time county hurdle champion and 300MH North Coast section champion.
Michael Oduro
Oduro is a product of South Plainfield, N.J., and finished up his academic and athletic career at Timothy Christian School. He is a triple and long jump specialist, and will train with the sprints and jumps group during his time at BC. He was the 2017 New Jersey Non-Public B State Group champion in the triple jump and finished third in the long jump. He is a three-time New Jersey Meet Of Champs qualifier and school record holder in both the long and triple jumps.
William Peters
Peters comes to BC from Nashville, Tenn., attending the Montgomery Bell Academy focusing on distance events and cross country. He was a 10-time all-state cross country and track performer, 2016 Tennessee D2 1600m runner up, 2016 Tennessee D2 cross country runner-up, three-time Nashville City Champion and finalist for 2017 Tennessee Student-Athlete of the Year. He brings PRs of 4:18.04 in the mile, 9:17.23 in the 3200, and 15:36.93 in the 5k to BC. In addition to his success on the track, his stellar academic record earned him the prestigious Gabelli Presidential Scholarship at Boston College.
Evan Ricci
Ricci, the third Massachusetts native joining the BC Class of 2021, is from Watertown and attended the Belmont Hill School. He focuses on sprints and hurdles, with his specialty being the 300MH. He was named all-league and All-New England in both the 110H and 300H in 2017, and ended high school with a PR of 39.79 in the 300H. He will look to continue his success in the 400m and 400MH during his time at BC.
Benjamin Ruffing
Ruffing hails from Redding, Conn., and attended Joel Barlow High School. He is a middle distance and distance specialist competing in both track and cross country. He was a three-time all-state cross country performer and 2017 all-state track selection. He was the 2016 Indoor Class MM 800m champion and school record holder in the 1000m and 800m. He comes to BC with PRs of 1:54.65 in the 800m, 2:33.67 in the 1000m and 4:18.40 in the 1600m.
Ryan Russell
Russell will come to BC as the sole Floridian on the track & field team. He is a product of Tampa and attended Wharton High School. He is a 200m and 400m specialist with PRs of 22.06 and 50.01, respectively. He was named a National Scholar Athlete by the U.S. Army Reserve. In addition to track & field, Ryan was Editor-in-Chief of the school newspaper and was an All-Florida winner for articles published in the student paper. He also received the President's award for education excellence.
Yahya Solimon
Solimon comes to BC from Mechanicsburg, Penn., and attended Cumberland Valley High School. He is a middle distance specialist with range from the 400m to the mile. He was an 11-time conference medalist and nine-time district medalist during his time at Cumberland Valley. He will study political science and economics during his time at BC.
Colin Trigani
Trigani, a native of Colts Neck, N.J., will be the third member of the team to matriculate from Christian Brother's Academy in New Jersey. He is a distance specialist who competed at the 2016 Nike Cross Nationals as part of the CBA team that finished seventh. He was also the 2017 indoor New Jersey Non-Public A 1600m Champion and multiple time New Jersey Meet of Champions qualifier. Trigani was also the anchor of the 2017 4xMile Indoor National Championship team and brings PRs of 4:17.81 in the 1600m and 15:28 in the 5k to The Heights.
Richard Webber
Webber is a sophomore transfer student from Fordham University. Originally from Morristown, N.J., Webber had a successful freshman year at Fordham before coming to The Heights. He was named to the Indoor All-Atlantic 10 Team for his performances in both the 4x400m (seventh) and the 60m (eighth). During his indoor season, he was also an IC4A qualifier in the 200m. Outdoors, Ricky was an All-A10 performer in the 4x100m (seventh). He was also named to the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll for the past school year. He comes to BC with PRs of 7.02 in the 60m and 22.32 in the 200m.
Stephen Windisch
Windisch comes to BC from Harrison, N.Y., and attended Harrison High School. He is a sprints specialist focusing on the 200m and 400m. He was a 2017 New York state qualifier in the 4x100m and comes to BC after graduating summa cum laude from Harrison High School. He holds a PR of 22.55 in the 200m.
