Softball is cheered on by 100 officers, lacrosse honors its seniors and former Eagles get drafted to NFL.
Softball: It was a storybook ending for Boston College softball senior Tatiana Cortez on Sunday, as the Eagles hosted Back the Blue Day in support of police officers across the country. Earlier in the year, Cortez's father - a Houston police officer - was shot in the line of duty and continues to recover from his injuries. In front of 100 local officers showing their support, Cortez lifted BC over NC State with a walk-off home run, her second homer of the afternoon. Â
Lacrosse: On April 22, Boston College lacrosse honored its six seniors prior to its game against Notre Dame. To cap off the special day, lax.com visited The Heights to take a closer look behind the team's recent success and how it prepares for a tough opponent. BC won the game, 16-10.
Football: In anticipation of the 2017 football season, Fenway Park opened its doors and welcomed the six head coaches from the  teams competing in the Fenway Gridiron Series in November, including Steve Addazio. Set to play UConn on Saturday, Nov. 18, Addazio reflected on playing Notre Dame at Fenway, as well as the environment created by playing at "America's Most Beloved Ballpark."Â
As the NFL Draft took center stage in the sports world over the weekend, Boston College saw two Eagles selected. First, John Johnson was selected in the third round by the Los Angeles Rams, followed by Matt Milano, who was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in fifth round.
