#BCEagles Newsstand: Tournament Season
March 07, 2017 | Boston College Athletics, Men's Basketball, Women's Hockey
Three sports begin post-season play and look to bring home trophies to The Heights.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - It's tournament season at The Heights.
As men's basketball and hockey prepare for their respective conference tournaments, women's hockey prepares for a run at the national title. With the regular season ending, awards continue to role in for the Eagles.
Men's Basketball: Before Boston College takes the court Tuesday, March 7, against Wake Forest, the ACC recognized two players for their performances this season. Jerome Robinson picked up All-ACC honorable mention honors and Ky Bowman, whose bond with his brother helped through the season, earned a spot on the All-ACC Freshman Team.
Women's Hockey: Thanks to the late game heroics from captain Andie Anastos in overtime and strong goaltending from Katie Burt in the conference title game against Northeastern, Boston College women's hockey is the Hockey East Champion for the second straight season.
With the Hockey East tournament winner getting an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, the eight-team bracket is set and the Eagles will play St. Lawrence Saturday, March 11. The winner will move on to the Frozen Four in St. Charles, Mo., next weekend.
