111 current and former student-athletes and BC staff joined the annual event
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – On Feb. 1, Boston College female student-athlete met with former BC student-athlete to connect, network and receive career guidance as part of the E2E: Connecting Eagle to Eagle program.
Â
The program was initiated in 2006 by BC Athletics in conjunction with the Council for Women of Boston College. The purpose is to bring together current female student-athletes with select alumnae who also once donned a uniform during their days at The Heights. The goal is to provide career guidance, mentoring, life advice and networking opportunities.
Â
Forty-two former student-athletes returned to be facilitators, led by radio personality Candy O'Terry. Former Eagles ranged from recent graduates to key executives in the Boston area and their fields of expertise spanned financial services, nursing, non-profits and the sports industry. Sixty-three current student-athletes participated in the programs and a combined 111 past and current student-athletes and staff were in attendance.
Â
"This was a great even put on by BC Athletics in regards to helping female student-athletes connect with BC alumni in various professional fields and from a range of college sports," junior rower Laura Mazziotta said. "It was very helpful to hear advice and insight from former BC female student-athletes in terms of interview expectations, jobs and internship searches, career paths and taking athletic experience into the workforce. From this event, I was able to connect with alumni in various positions and fields that I am interested in as well as hear their honest advice about how to navigate life after college."
