Chestnut Hill, Mass. – On Sunday, the Boston College football team accepted an invitation to play Big Ten opponent Iowa at the New Era Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday, Dec. 27.
Head coach Steve Addazio and the players are excited to play for their eighth win of the 2017 campaign in their fourth bowl game in five years.
The Eagles last played in the Pinstripe Bowl in 2014, where they suffered a 30-31 loss in overtime to Penn State. The team is excited to return to the Bronx and write a different ending.
In other BC sports news, the Boston College men's hockey team rebounded on Saturday night to defeat Boston University, 4-1, at Agganis Arena. The Eagles earned their first win over the Terriers in four regular season matchups in front of a crowd of 6,115.
The Boston College women's hockey team also played Boston University in a Hockey East home-and-home series this past weekend. After tying the Terriers, 2-2, on Friday afternoon at Kelly Rink, the Eagles earned a 4-2 win on Saturday behind the efforts of freshman Daryl Watts and sophomore Caitrin Lonergan.
The men's basketball team defeated Hartford, 73-61, on Saturday to improve to 6-3 overall. The Eagles outrebounded the Hawks 40-28 and outscored them 38-18 in the paint. BC was led by junior Jerome Robinson (23 Points) and sophomore Ky Bowman (21 points).
