Mitchell, Bolden-Morris Named Eagles of the Week

Eagles take weekly honors after standout efforts last week
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College freshman forward Steffon Mitchell (men's basketball) and freshman guard Milan Bolden-Morris (women's basketball) have been tabbed Nissan Eagles of the Week following their performances last week.

Mitchell was an integral part of the Eagles' wins over Columbia, 81-66, and Central Connecticut State, 84-65. The Shakopee, Minn. native recorded his first career double-double over CCSU with 13 points and a career-high 14 rebounds, eight of which came off the offensive glass. Additionally, he connected a perfect four out of four from the charity stripe. As BC brought down Columbia on Tuesday night, Mitchell added 10 points and eight total rebounds. He accumulated five assists on the week.

Bolden-Morris' career-high 18 points led the Eagles past New Hampshire Sunday afternoon in a 64-55 overtime win. In the fourth quarter alone, she connected a perfect four-for-four three-pointers, pulling BC into the lead for the first time during the second half. The guard shot 60 percent from the floor and hit two freebies at the line in OT, while adding eight rebounds and a steal during her 33 minutes of play.

Men's basketball (9-3) is back in action Saturday, Dec. 23 as the squad hosts Richmond at 1 p.m. Women's basketball (5-6) returns to the court Thursday, Dec. 21, traveling to Providence to face the Friars at 12 p.m.
