Eagles recognized for outstanding performances last week
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College senior linebacker Ty Schwab (football) and junior outside hitter McKenna Goss (volleyball) have been named Nissan Eagles of the Week for their performances last week.
Goss produced 22 kills and 20 digs in a 1-1 weekend for the Eagles. On Sunday in BC's 3-1 win over Virginia Tech, she had 14 of each in that match alone, cementing a double-double and securing new season highs for both categories. Goss added four blocks and 24.5 points to the Eagles' effort against the Huskies.
Schwab was tabbed ACC Linebacker of the Week after a career-best performance in the Eagles' 35-3 win over Florida State. Schwab was all over the field with a career-best 12 tackles along with a sack and 2.5 tackles for a loss. He also recorded his second career interception. The dominant BC defense held FSU to just three points, the first time since Sept. 26, 2009 (17-7 loss vs. USF) the Seminoles failed to score 10 points.
Football (5-4) returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 11, when the team hosts NC State at Alumni Stadium. Volleyball (6-16) returns to the court with a two-game road trip this weekend, visiting North Carolina on Friday and NC State on Sunday
