Kentera has spent last five years at BU
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Jen Kentera has been hired as the assistant athletics director for student-athlete development, Boston College Athletics Director Brad Bates announced Tuesday.
Kentera, who has spent the last five years at Boston University, will head the Student-Athlete Development Program that serves the student-athlete population in order to provide a well-rounded Boston College experience and prepare student-athletes for life after sport. The main components of Boston College's holistic Student-Athlete Development program are leadership development, job placement and career development, personal development and community service.

Kentera was promoted to associate director of student-athlete support services at Boston University in the fall of 2014. In that role, she implemented a wide variety of career, educational, wellness, personal and transitional programs for almost 600 student-athletes.
Kentera joined the Terriers in 2011 as an assistant director after spending the previous two years at Oregon, where she served as an academic advisor in the services for student-athletes department. In that role, she mentored around 80 student-athletes involved with football, baseball, volleyball, women's golf and women's tennis.
Kentera earned her bachelor's degree from Clemson in 2006 and went on to get her master's degree from Florida State in 2009. She served as a graduate assistant during her first year in Tallahassee and as an academic advisor/tutorial coordinator in her second year.
