Bates Announces Athletics Department Staff Changes

Several members of the senior staff earn new responsibilities, titles
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College Director of Athletics Brad Bates has announced the reorganization of several units within Athletics.

Jaime Seguin, BC's Deputy Athletics Director since 2014, will add the permanent role of Senior Woman Administrator to her job responsibilities. Seguin is a member of the department's Executive Team which also includes JM Caparro, Steve Novak, and Marcus Blossom. In her Deputy AD role, she oversees all internal operations for the department which include the areas of: business and administration, facilities and game operations, technology and interactive media, and Campus Recreation. Seguin also directly oversee the areas of strength and conditioning, sports medicine and student-athlete development. In addition, she serves as the liaison with the office of Student Affairs and will continue to oversee the department's gender equity initiatives and serve in the capacity as one of Boston College's Deputy Title IX Coordinators. Seguin, a 1999 Boston College graduate, will continue to serve as the day-to-day sport administrator for the women's basketball and field hockey programs.
Steve Novak has been promoted to Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development and Strategic Initiatives and will serve as a member of the department's Executive Team. Novak will remain engaged in the department's highest priority philanthropic work, especially as it relates to facility projects and major fundraising initiatives. He will take on additional administrative duties and work to support the department's strategic planning initiatives. Novak will continue to serve as the sport administrator for women's lacrosse and men's and women's golf programs. Novak joined the BC Athletics Department in 2001 as an intern and has climbed the ranks in the department, formerly serving as an Associate Athletics Director for Development.
Marcus Blossom has been promoted to Senior Associate Athletics Director for Business and Administration and will serve as a member of the department's Executive Team. Blossom, who joined the Eagles in 2014 as an Associate AD, will add the oversight of the department's human resource responsibilities as well as serve as the Athletics Department's liaison with residential life and auxiliary services. Blossom will continue to serve as the sport administrator for softball, rowing and men's and women's sailing programs.
Carly Pariseau has been promoted to Associate AD for Compliance and Student Support Services. In her revised role, Pariseau will serve as the department's liaison with the Learning Resources for Student-Athletes office and also with the BC admissions office. Pariseau has worked in the BC Athletics Department since 2005, first as Assistant AD for Compliance and Recruiting before being promoted to Associate AD for Compliance in 2009. Pariseau will continue to serve as the sport administrator for the women's hockey program.Â
