CHESNUT HILL, Mass. - There is excitement in the air as several Eagles will hope to get selected in this weekend's NFL Draft.

One of those prospects who will be waiting for the phone to ring is defensive back Justin Simmons. Simmons is coming off a great showing in February's NFL Combine, leading all safeties in vertical jump (40-inches), 3-cone drill (6.58 seconds), 20-yard shuttle (3.85 seconds) and 60-yard shuttle (10.84 seconds). Furthermore, defensive lineman Mehdi Abdesmad could possibly be the top Canadian pick in the draft.

On a sadder note, Boston College had to say goodbye to former player Ron Brace, who left a lasting impression on those that knew him. The former New England Patriot left friends and opponents 'awestruck.'

Although the Eagles' season didn't wrap up the way they might have hoped, the team received some good news with the announcement that Chris Calnan will return for his senior season.
