Women's hockey, lacrosse among those featured in this week's news
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Both women's lacrosse and softball got started this past week, while the baseball team kicks off their season this weekend in Arizona. Between the start of the new season, and the continuation of the winter sport season, there is plenty of news involving Boston College athletes in this week's local news.Â
WOMEN'S ICE HOCKEY
Butch Stearns of Fox 25 talked with members of the women's ice hockey team as they seek to complete a perfect regular season this weekend. The Heights also has a feature on reigning Hockey East Rookie of the Week Makenna Newkirk, looking at her journey from the first time on skates in Scottsdale, Ariz. to the accomplishments she has achieved on the ice this season for the nation's No. 1 team. Â
WOMEN'S LACROSSE
The women's lacrosse team is off to a hot start, with wins over Boston University and Holy Cross to begin the season. As they open conference play Sunday at Notre Dame, Rich Thompson of the Boston Herald sat down with senior captain Molly Erdle to hear how she has taken teammates under her wing as they adjust to the collegiate level.Â

Following the Beanpot Championship on February 8, the Minnesota Wild had a feature on their prospect Alex Tuch, who knocked in the OT winner against BU at the Garden for the Eagles 20th title in the tournament's 64 year history.Â
