Dair, McCoshen Named Eagles of the Week

Pair honored for performances last week

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Sophomore Asiya Dair (women's tennis) and junior defenseman Ian McCoshen (men's hockey) have been named Eagles of the Week.

Unranked as the dual meet season begins, Dair upset the nation's No. 8 ranked player on Saturday, taking a straight-set win over Virginia's Julia Elbaba, 6-4, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. In doubles, Dair teamed with Jennifer Ren to help the Eagles take the point by claiming a 7-6 (9-7) win at No. 2 doubles.

McCoshen broke through offensively and recorded his first-career four-point performance on Friday in a 5-3 win against Boston University. It was his second two-goal game as an Eagle and marks the fifth time McCoshen has logged two assists in a game. He scored his first game-winner of the season and fourth of his career.

Women's tennis (0-1, 0-1 ACC) is back in action on January 30 against Harvard. Men's hockey (15-4-3, 8-1-3 HEA) travels to UMass on Friday night before hosting Connecticut on Saturday at 7 p.m.
