Flynn Fund Appreciation Week: Post-BC
August 27, 2015 | Boston College Athletics
But the education received in the classroom and the on-field lessons learned allows the impact of that gift to be felt far into their future.
This year, 94 percent of our graduating seniors in the Class of 2015 made a gift to BC Athletics before receiving their diploma – their commitment to pay it forward provided the highest participation rate in Senior Class Gift history.
Not only did this class excel on the field and in the classroom, 83 percent of the class left BC with a job offer or were accepted into graduate school before graduation.
Among the Class of 2015, some example of their post-Boston College endeavors include:
- Beth Barnard (sailing) now works for The Select Group
- Nina Baumberger-Altirriba (field hockey) accepted a position with Goldman Sachs
- Collin Fedor (track/cross-country) is at the Massachusetts State House working on the staff of a state representative,
- Erin Kickham (ice hockey & lacrosse) has entered the Boston College graduate nursing program
- Dan Lembke (football) is participating in the Wildness & Conservation Program at Walt Disney World
- Melissa Merwin (swimming) is enrolled at the UConn School of Dentistry
- Kathy O'Keefe (track/cross country) is enrolled in medical school in Ireland
- Michael Sit (ice hockey) is now an analyst at Nomura Securities
Gifts to the Flynn Fund set our student-athletes up for success both here in Chestnut Hill, but also when they leave BC.
