May 20, 2015 | Boston College Athletics
Each year, the awards are bestowed upon teams finishing in the top 10 percent of their respective sport based on the most recent multi-year APR.
Boston College's 12 programs recognized include: women's cross country, football, men's golf, women's golf, women's ice hockey, lacrosse, rowing, men's skiing, men's indoor track and field, women's indoor track and field, men's outdoor track and field and women's outdoor track and field.
"We are extremely proud of the accomplishments of our students on and off the field," Director of Athletics Brad Bates said. "This year's senior class accounted for 23 postseason invitations and 16 championships, including two national championships. A Boston College student-athlete has the opportunity to compete at the highest level while obtaining a degree from a prestigious university in a world-class city. This recognition is a testament to their dedication and hard work."
BC's 12 teams honored ranks sixth nationally among FBS schools, and third among Atlantic Coast Conference schools. Stanford (19), Notre Dame (17), Duke and Northwestern (15 each) and Minnesota (14) ranked higher nationally than BC. In the conference, after Notre Dame, Duke and BC followed Miami (5), N.C. State (5), Virginia (5), Louisville (4), North Carolina (4), Clemson (3), Florida State (2), Georgia Tech (2), Pittsburgh (2), Virginia Tech (2) and Wake Forest (2).
