Men's Golf Placed Fifth At The Colleton River Collegiate

The Boston College men's golf team placed fifth at the Colleton River Collegiate this week, which was hosted by Michigan State University on the Nicklaus and Dye Courses at the Colleton River Plantation in Bluffton, South Carolina.
The team finished at +25 (889) in three rounds for fifth place, while Tennessee won the event with a +8 (872). Miami of Ohio was second +16 (880) followed by Michigan State at +19 (883) and College of Charleston at +22 (886).
Boston College was second to Tennessee on the Par 3's at +11. The Eagles were fourth at +41 at the Par 4's and third at -7 on the Par 5's. BC led all teams with 173 pars for the tournament.
In the individual match, John Jackopsic finished tied in first place with Michigan State's Sam Weatherhead. Jackopsic was tied for 14th after round one with a 73, while Weatherhead shot a 71. The Eagles senior had four birdies and 12 pars in his final round.
Jackopsic, who had the 11 birdies in three rounds, made his move in the second round as he shot a tournament-low 68. He had six birdies and 10 pars on the Dye Course. His second time around the Nicklaus Course, Jackopsic had three birdies and 11 pars. Weatherhead shot a 72 and finished the final day with a 71 to finish at 214 tying Jackopsic.
BC's Nick Pandelena placed third overall as he shot a 73, 73 and a 72 (217) in the final round. The Eagles senior had 41 pars over the three rounds. He also had six birdies.
Patrick Albanesi tied in 17th place as he was +7 for the tournament. He started slow with a 75 and 77 only to shoot a 71 on the final day.
Patrick Hallisey finished tied in 23rd place as he was +8 for the three rounds. His low round was a 70 in the first day. He had four birdies and two bogies in his first time around the Nicklaus Course.
Teammate Andy Mai placed tied for 32nd at +11. He had two low rounds of 73 in the three round event.
The Eagles will next compete at the Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate in Williamsburg, Virginia on March 23 and 24.
