Carpenter, Gaudreau Named Eagles of the Week

Pair honored for performances last week

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Senior forward Alex Carpenter (women's hockey) and junior forward Matthew Gaudreau (men's hockey) have been named Eagles of the Week.

Carpenter posted six points in two games, re-claiming the national lead in both points and points per game. She also moved into a first-place tie nationally in goals (23). On Saturday, Carpenter captured the Hockey East career scoring mark with 134 points and finished the weekend with 136 - passing Kelli Stack '11 (133).

Gaudreau's eight-game point streak was curbed on Saturday against Northeastern but he picked up where he left off on Sunday with his second game-winning goal of the season. The Carneys Point, N.J., native scored his fourth goal of the season at 8:52 of the third period to count as his first GWG since potting one against Denver earlier this season on October 30.

Women's hockey (19-0-0, 13-0-0 WHEA) is at Syracuse Thursday night. Men's hockey (13-1-1, 6-0-1 HE) hosts Notre Dame on Thursday night.
