Mid-Year Graduates Recognized at Mass, Reception

A number of Eagles set to earn their degrees this month
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College consistently ranks among the top schools in the country in student-athlete graduation rate, and several more Eagles are set to join the ranks of BC alumni following yesterday's Mid-Year Baccalaureate Mass and Reception.

Ten current and past student-athletes were honored  Tuesday night in Gasson Hall. They are among the 72 mid-year graduates who'll earn their degree at the end of this term.

Football's James Cashman, David Dudeck, Harrison Jackson and Leonard Skubal, joined baseball's Jeff Burke and Andrew Chin, men's soccer's Atobra Ampedu and Alex Kapp, men's tennis' Philip Nelson and Laura Hottenrott from the women's cross country/track and field teams as mid-year graduates.

Burke, Cashman, Chin, Dudeck, Jackson, Kapp and Skubal are all set to graduate from the Carroll School of Management, while Ampedu, Hottenrott and Nelson have earned degrees from the Morrissey College of Arts & Sciences. In addition to the student-athletes, Edgard De Gama, an assistant coach with the volleyball team, was also recognized for finishing coursework in the Woods College of Advancing Studies.

Burke (San Francisco Giants) and Chin (New York Yankees) are already underway in their professional playing careers, while Cashman and Skubal are preparing to start work on their MBAs in the Carroll Graduate School of Management. Ampedu and Kapp are reviewing future playing opportunities.Â
