104 student-athletes made phone calls and wrote notes over three day event
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College student-athletes recently completed their bi-annual "Thank-A-Thon" to directly thank individuals who made a gift to the Boston College Flynn Fund in support of scholarships, facilities, training and competition needs. Over the course of the three-day event, student athletes from all of BC's 31- Varsity programs made phone calls and wrote notes to show their appreciation and gratitude of the generosity shown by donors to the Flynn Fund over the past year.
Over the three days, 104 student athletes placed 774 phone calls and wrote an additional 272 handwritten notes to supporters who could not be reached via phone.
As the avenue by which alumni, parents and friends can invest in advancing the mission of athletics at Boston College, the Flynn Fund allows student-athletes to achieve greatness in the classroom and on the playing fields.
The bi-annual "Thank-A-Thon" allow student-athletes to express their gratitude to the individuals supporting the Flynn Fund as well as connecting a 'face with a name' for both the donors and the student-athletes who directly benefit from donor support. Additionally, the event cultivates an atmosphere of teamwork as student-athletes encouraged each other to complete the task at hand while also educating those students about the source of their support and connecting them with those who care deeply about Boston College Athletics.
Boston College is grateful for all those who continue to support the Flynn Fund and BC Athletics!
