Blossom Named Associate AD For Business & Administration

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College has named Marcus Blossom, the former Associate Athletic Director, Business Operations at Providence College, Associate Athletics Director for Business and Administration.
"We are pleased to welcome Marcus to the Boston College Athletics family," Athletics Director Brad Bates said. "Marcus will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience that should prove extremely valuable to our business operation."
Blossom joined the Friars in 2012 after spending two years at Brown University as the Associate Athletic Director, Finance. He also worked with the NCAA as an Assistant Director of Championships (2008-10) and Central Michigan as the Athletics Business Manager (2006-08) before being promoted to Assistant Athletic Director, Business Operations (2008).
While at Providence College, Blossom was responsible for the overall financial management of the athletics department's operating budget including, but not limited to, budgeting and planning, financial reporting, forecasting, purchasing, travel, and internal controls/business policies and procedures. He was also the sport administrator for men's soccer at PC.
"I'm very appreciative of Bob Driscoll and the entire Providence College team for the breadth of championship experiences and relationships gained while at PC," Blossom said. "I'd also like to thank Brad Bates and Jaime Seguin for this wonderful new opportunity on The Heights.
"Boston College athletics has a tradition of building champion athletes and scholars and I look forward to working with the staff, coaches and student-athletes in their continued pursuit of excellence."
Blossom earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in finance at Northeastern University, a Master's Degree in Sport Management from West Virginia University and an MBA from the University of Rhode Island. While earning his undergraduate degree at Northeastern University, Blossom was a three-time GTE District I Academic All-American and three-time all-conference selection in men's basketball.
In addition to the Blossom hire, Bates also announced that Patrick Sullivan has been hired as a Fiscal Assistant and Maria Knoerr has been promoted to Staff Assistant for Administration.
