Men's Track Opens Season at BU Invitational

Boston, Mass. – The Boston College men’s track and field team kicked off the 2014-15 season at the Boston University Invitational on Saturday.
Colin Fedor took third in the mile, clocking a 4:19.69, while Tom Hennessy finished fifth at 4:22.87.
The Eagles were highly represented in the 800m, with Evan Gray (1:55.40) and Timothy Ferris (1:55.41) placing second and third, respectively. Caelum Maloney finished the 800m in 2:01.80.
BC dominated the 1000m run with Patrick Daly earning a first-place finish with his 2:33.72 finish and Ciaran Murphy (2:35.76) and Patrick McGuirk (2:36.71) finishing third and fourth, respectively.
Obinna Nwankwo placed second overall in the 400m, running a 48.87.
Ryan Cooney finished third in the 500m, clocking a 1:07.51.
Brendan Bonadio was BC’s top finisher in the 200m dash with a time of 22.97, good for 12th overall.
James Darren won his heat in the 300m, clocking a time of 35.70.
Daniel Ashenden clocked a 7.27 60m dash in the preliminary while Brendan Bonadio finished second in his heat with a 7.27. Owie Agbontaen ran a 7.35 60m dash prelim.
Devaun Bovell finished tenth overall in the 60m hurdles preliminaries with a time of 8.71.
The Boston College men’s track and field team has a month break before returning to action at the Yale Invitational on Jan. 10, 2015.
