Eagles Compete at Thomas Murphy Invitational

This past weekend the Boston College Eagles Men's and Women's swimming and diving teams competed against Johns Hopkins University and Loyola University, hosted in Baltimore by Loyola.
After day one the Men's team was behind John's Hopkins 69.00 to 38.00 and trailing Loyola 59.00 to 51.00. During day one strong performances were seen by Dan Kelly, who took first place in the 50 yd. Freestyle with a time of 21.34, and the `A' team of Nick Henze, David Hunter, Drew Cuttic and Anthony Richardson in the 800 yd. Freestyle Relay. The boys took third place with a time of 7:06.79.
After day two the Men's team concluded the meet with a loss to John's Hopkins 233.00 to 131.00 and pulled ahead to beat Loyola 207.00 to 163.00. Andrew Stranick had an outstanding swim in the 200 yd. Breaststroke, taking first place with a time of 2:09.12, beating his seed time of 2:12.46 by 3 seconds. Nick Henze was a strong competitor as well taking first place in the 100 yd. Freestyle with a time of 46.81.
Next the Eagles will travel to Maine on Nov. 7 to take on University of Maine and University of Vermont.
