BC Athletics Launches Social Media Hub

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Boston College Athletics, along with partner row27, is pleased to introduce bceaglesunited.com , a new social media hub that will connect fans through real-time conversation and provide scoring updates, behind the scenes photos and more across social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Youtube and Pinterest.
The hub includes a Virtual Alumni Stadium game, where fans can "fly around" Alumni to answer trivia and poll questions, as well as purchase tickets and receive exclusive offers from sponsors, such as Under Armour, Coca-Cola, AT&T and more.
In addition, the hub is the home of the social media rewards program, which was created to reward fans for creating and sharing social media stories. These include:
• Sharing and liking BC Athletics Facebook posts, photos, and videos
• Retweeting BC Athletics
• Tweeting with certain hashtags (such as wearebc and bceaglesunited)
• Uploading images
• Checking into BC athletic facilities through Foursquare.
Fans can redeem points for prizes. Every day in August, BC will be awarding prizes such as tickets, parking passes, sideline passes and more to the fans who have the most social engagement with BC Athletics. At the end of the academic year (May 31, 2013), the top three point earners will win some of the more substantial prizes, which could include season tickets or a trip with the team.
